Regina Noppe, born in the Penha neighborhood, in the east zone of São Paulo, since she was little, at the age of 10, insisted on learning English and started studying alone. I was fascinated by the idea of being able to know the world and work with it. He graduated in foreign trade and gradually built a successful trajectory. Today Regina is CEO and co-founder of a venture builder, Dream2B, a company based in Canada, São Paulo and Florianópolis.
Responsible for editing the Dream2B Global Acceleration Program, program where Brazilian startups are selected for acceleration and internationalization in Canada. “English opened many doors for me, I had the opportunity to work in large multinational companies, however, I realized that something was missing. I did an exchange in Canada and ended up living in the country for 10 years.
With this, I understood the business relations between the two countries (Brazil and Canada). After 12 years I decided to return to Brazil and created Dream2B with the intention of bringing the opportunity for foreign investment closer to Brazilian entrepreneurs. And in this way, contribute to strengthening relations between countries that have a lot to gain from each other”, says Regina Noppe.
In 2019, a survey by Abstartups showed that Brazil had 12,700 startups, companies that are in development and waiting for their chance in the market. With more than 40 startups with investment and guidance from Dream2B, the businesswoman is now curating the participants in the internationalization program.
The potential of each of the companies surprises Regina, “even though it is our 5th edition of the Dream2B Global Acceleration Program, it is incredible to see the number of ideas and businesses with great space in Brazil. I am very proud to be part of the success of more Brazilians like me,” he highlights.
Awards
In 2017, during a dinner celebrating 150 years of Canadian confederation, Regina was named by the Canadian ambassador to Brazil as a “Noble Partner”, being recognized as a reference businesswoman in entrepreneurship in Canada and a developer of bilateral relations within the technological communities.
Noppe recalls his journey in the country: “after all the difficulties I went through in Canada, having to rebuild my professional career practically from scratch, I created my own opportunities. Receiving an award like this was a dream come true. When we commit ourselves, everything is possible and valid.”
In 2020, the businesswoman was chosen to receive the “Exceptional Women of Excellence” award in Egypt during the Annual Women World Economic Forum, but due to the pandemic, travel plans had to be cancelled.
Success
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dream2B was the bridge in an important negotiation. Safetest, a Brazilian company created by Janayna Bhering Cardoso, achieved quite a feat by patenting a test to detect Coronavirus infection with a waiting time of just 15 minutes. With its advent, the startup conquered the market in Canada, the United States, Europe and, of course, Brazil.
“We use our connections and gain the necessary investments for a greater good, in these moments I realize how rewarding the work we do is”, concludes Regina about Safetest’s achievement.
What does a Venture Builder do??
A venture builder can be translated into Portuguese as “startup factory”. These are companies that operate with their own resources and guide entrepreneurs more accurately in achieving impact. These companies shape the business so that it prospers and, in return, gain equity in the startup.
