A Dream2B, a venture builder that connects the innovation ecosystems of Canada and Brazil, announced the raising of US$10 million (around R$ 50 million) in a round carried out by Victory Square, also a venture builder from Vancouver, Canada.
Founded in 2015 in Vancouver and now with offices in São Paulo and Florianópolis, Dream2B is a venture builder, a type of business builder that helps startups take the next steps in their growth journeys, whether with financial or intellectual resources.
With Canadian DNA, Dream2B's role is to provide a “match” between Brazilian companies and the North American market, recognizing startups with the potential to internationalize their business there. From attracting foreign investment to international missions, Dream2B programs have already helped more than 50 Brazilian startups arriving in North America, in the venture builder's calculations.
“Canada is today one of the fastest growing technology hubs in the world and is one of the main gateways to the United States, Asian and European markets”, says Regina Noppe, co-founder and CEO of Dream2B.
Victory Square has a tradition of investing in companies that use technological resources such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain in the health, gaming, insurance and fintech sectors. At this rate, there are already more than 20 companies in the portfolio.
With resources from Victory Square, Dream2B wants to increase the number of companies accelerated in its main program to promote entrepreneurship and internationalization. Part of the resources will also be used to improve the chances of companies that are already part of the portfolio.
“For the next three years, at least, we will invest in the best Brazilian startups with internationalization potential for Canada, reinforcing the bridge between the two countries and promoting Brazilian businesses”, he says.
New Cicle
The check from the Canadian venture builder will also help Dream2B launch the seventh edition of its accelerator program. Until March 31st, Brazilian startups with applications in artificial intelligence, blockchain and Web3, in areas such as digital health, cleantechs and immersive technology companies can sign up for the international acceleration cycle.
Up to 10 Brazilian startups will be selected for a 1-month stay in Canada that includes individual mentoring with market experts, validation of the business model and connections with North American companies, institutions and investors. To participate, you must have command of the English language and an international expansion strategy. More information at program website.
